The 13th of the month is apparently not a very good day to conduct test flights. The company who conducted the filghts learnt the hard way how bad this day could really get...
On the 13th of the month, a test flight of a modified fighter jet was conducted by an avionics equipment company. After takeoff the pilot encountered an engine malfunction and had to eject from the jet, leading to the destruction of millions of dollars worth of equipment.
Little did the company know at the time that their insurance agent forgot to renew their policy, a policy which ended less than 12 hours before the crash... To make matters even more complicated, a reinsurance policy was in effect at the time of the crash, which started a whole discussion whether the policy was actually in effect or not...
